The four words that inspired Critical Care Unified.
An accomplished professor spent days in the Intensive Care Unit. As her condition improved, the unfamiliar environment left her increasingly anxious and distressed. When her care team asked what she needed most, she wrote four simple words on a piece of paper:
“Take me home.”
That moment inspired a simple question:
Why should patients have to choose between the comfort of home and the expertise of an ICU?
In 2016, Critical Care Unified (CCU) was founded to bring specialist critical care beyond hospital walls.
What began as ICU type-level care at home has grown into a specialist critical care organisation delivering expert care in patients' homes, partnering with hospitals through Falcon ICU, and connecting patients to trusted international healthcare through Global Care.
Today, technology, clinical governance and multidisciplinary teams enable us to deliver critical care across India including underserved regions and internationally, beginning with Kenya.
In 2023, CCU was honoured as Home Healthcare Company of the Year by The Economic Times, recognising our commitment to innovation and clinical excellence.

Founder’s Background
Leadership & Vision
Critical Care Unified (CCU) was founded by Rajiv Mathur, a visionary entrepreneur and business leader with over four decades of leadership experience. He established HCL-HP in India and went on to lead the launch of HCL's European & Middle Eastern operations, building businesses with a strong focus on innovation, scale and operational excellence.
Inspired by a single patient experience, he founded CCU with a bold vision; to extend ICU expertise beyond hospital walls and redefine how critical care is delivered.
Today, that vision has evolved into a specialist critical care organisation spanning home-based care, hospital ICU partnerships and Global Care networks, with ambitions to expand access to expert critical care across India and internationally.
In recognition of his entrepreneurial leadership, Rajiv Mathur was honoured as Founder of the Year by The Economic Times in 2024 one of many honours received over his decades of distinguished leadership.
